Football Budapest League Rules

1) All players participating in Football Budapest matches should be aware that the league bears no responsibility whatsoever for any injuries sustained whilst playing. Players are expected to have their own medical insurance. It is the responsibility of all team managers to inform their players of this. Players participate in the championship at their own risk.

2) Matches last for 90 minutes (2X45). If cup games are equal after 90 minutes, matches are decided by a penalty shootout.

3) Unlimited rotating substitutions, can be made during play, but must be made at halfway line.

4) Players sent off to miss rest of match. If for violent conduct, Referee notifies both team captains about decision. Sent off player to automatically serve 1 match suspension unless Referee notifies the league committee otherwise.

5) Cancellation: Unless postponed due to pitch unplayability, the offending team loses 0v3. Both teams lose out financially as the pitch has already been paid for. Cancelling teams must let admin know so the referee can be cancelled, and also so the other team doesn't have a wasted journey to the pitch. Cancelling without prior notice will be considered as being a serious breach of league rules, resulting in a fine for the amount owed to the referee, any pitch costs, and automatic 3-0 defeats until the fine is paid.

6) Matches abandoned due to indiscipline: Offending team gets no points for the match, league meeting convened (via email) to ascertain any further action to be taken against the perpetrators.

7) 3 points awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat

8) If teams equal on points, decided by 1) Number of wins, 2) Goal-difference, 3) Goals scored, 4) Head to head, 5) Playoff (if for the title)

9) Match results must be sent to admin by the Monday following the match to: neil@footballbudapest.com

10) Persistent offenders (discipline, reliablity) will be excluded from the league.

11) Teams who pull out of the league mid-season for any reson (financial or other) shall incure a penalty of 10 points. Should the team then rejoin the league, the readmission of the team shall take place on the basis of points accumulated in the previous unfinished season, taking into account the 10 points deducted.

12) Strictly no "ringers" allowed, although special dispensation may be given to players who have have captained a World Cup winning team, played for Hungary at a World Cup, or captained the Hungarian national team. Should a team wish to call on the services of any pro's,  they must  first of all seek approval from league administration, and the opponents concerned.
